More than 100 children visited Family SMART Day at Savremena

More than 15 educational workshops, lots of laughter and entertainment, many interesting experiences and a good atmosphere marked Family SMART Day, which took place on Saturday, 29 February at Primary School Savremena.

Over 100 children aged 6-11 participated in this unique event. Together with their parents, they enjoyed free educational activities at the most modern primary school in the region.

The time flew by

Family SMART Day activities were carefully chosen and each second of this unique family event which blends entertainment and education was specially designed to impress the attendees.

The little ones were excited by each workshop and activity. The parents, who had an equal amount of fun, learnt that Primary School Savremena is the perfect place for their child; a place where learning and entertainment are synonymous and where the students can fulfil their potential.

Time flew by at Family SMART Day. After three hours of diverse activities, all participants wanted to go back and experience them once again.

“Dad wanted to surprise my brother and me, but when he said he was taking us to school, we didn’t want to go. However, we had a blast here. We made many photos for our friends. Thanks, dad, I would love to come here again”, said Ivan, one of the youngest attendees at Family SMART Day.

The 9D VR Starship generated the most attention

Everyone at the event was able to find a workshop that suited their interests. As one would expect, the unique 9D VR Starship generated the most attention. The Starship enabled the little ones to travel around space and go back to dinosaur times, where they could play with these lovely creatures or plunge into the blue depths of the ocean.

“This is our second time at the event and we’re delighted, particularly by the VR technology which is a great learning tool. Last time we liked the corrective gymnastics, and what I as a parent like is the fact that all the activities are free”, said Sanja Keškić.

A fun robotic experience

A large number of children gathered in front of the STEM table in order to get the chance to manage the robot. This left a particularly great impression on Maksim, who briefly said, so as not to waste time:

“I like robots a lot and I also enjoyed ‘Kid Genius’”.

Jelena Stanković, the mother of one of the participants, was equally as delighted by the event.

“We had a fantastic time but we cannot single out any workshop; all of them were great. My daughter, though, found the robot most appealing”, said Jelena Stanković.

Delighted parents

The children were not the only ones who enjoyed Family SMART Day; the parents loved it, as well. Among them was Jelica Sretić.

“Family SMART Day is great and I would recommend it to everyone. The teachers are committed to the students who can enjoy numerous activities, and I believe it’s very important that they use advanced teaching methods”, said Jelica Sretić.

The children and their parents were welcomed by the teachers of Primary School Savremena, who explained why this school is the most modern institution of its kind in the region.

“These creative workshops are a common element at Primary School Savremena. We teach our students to be active participants in teaching. Dance is just one of the methods through which we develop coordination and thinking, and the students respond to it really well”, said second-grade teacher Persida Petrović who managed the dance workshop at this event.
