Mathematical Olympiad
Medals won at the national competition
The National Mathematical Olympiad was held in Kragujevac at the Faculty of Science, one of the important mathematics competitions where students have the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge, logical thinking, perseverance and love of solving challenging problems. This year, Savremena Primary School had a special reason to be proud, as our students qualified for the national level of this significant competition for the first time.
Qualifying for the national competition is already a great achievement, and our students made this success even more remarkable by winning medals. Lev Bakunchik, a student of class 1-2, won an excellent second place, while Mikhail Khorenko, a student of class 3-1, won third place. For Mikhail, this result is especially important, as it is his second national award in this school year.
These results confirm that effort, knowledge and curiosity are always recognised. Through their success, Lev and Mikhail showed that mathematics can be a space for exploration, play, logic and great personal victories.

First qualification and great success
For Savremena Primary School, this achievement has special meaning, as this is the first time our students have qualified for the national level of the Mathematical Olympiad. Such a result does not happen by chance – behind it stand dedicated work, curiosity, the support of teachers and families, and the students’ readiness to face tasks that require careful thinking and perseverance.
At the National Mathematical Olympiad, students have the opportunity to show not only how much they know, but also how they think, how they connect ideas and how they reach solutions when faced with tasks that require more than quick calculation. That is why Lev Bakunchik’s second place and Mikhail Khorenko’s third place deserve special recognition.
Lev has shown exceptional mathematical potential, confidence and competitive spirit from the very beginning of his schooling, and his second place at the national level is strong encouragement for new challenges. By winning third place, Mikhail confirmed his continuity of excellent results, especially considering that this is his second national award in the same school year.
Their success is also a wonderful motivation for all students who love mathematics to believe in their knowledge and confidently step into the world of competitions.
Proud of our young mathematicians
The success of Lev Bakunchik and Mikhail Khorenko at the National Mathematical Olympiad is an important moment for Savremena Primary School. The first qualification of our students for the national level, together with the medals they won, shows that exceptional results can be achieved through effort, support and a love of learning.
We are especially pleased that Lev and Mikhail represented their school with pride and showed that students of Savremena Primary School can compete with the best. Their results are not only places they won, but also a confirmation of perseverance, knowledge, confidence and the desire to keep improving.
We congratulate Lev on winning second place and Mikhail on winning third place, as well as on receiving another national award in this school year. We believe that many new challenges, competitions and successes lie ahead of them and will further motivate them.
Well done, Lev! Well done, Mikhail! Savremena Primary School is proud of your results and looks forward to all the future mathematical victories waiting for you.
