Making friends in the nature while discovering the underwater world, learning, and exploring historical mysteries
A clear day, marvelous nature, and history that inspires curiosity
Last week Savremena’s primary students went on a day trip during which they visited Vinča and the science technology park “Little Danube” in Radmilovac. They enjoyed the magnificent nature, and this day will stay in their memories as the day when they had the role of little archaeologists and explorers.
VISITING THE BIGGEST PREHISTORIC SETTLEMENT IN THIS PART OF EUROPE
In the morning hours, students set foot on an archaeological site of extraordinary importance. Adventurous spirits were awake, and Savremena’s students did not hide their enthusiasm.
They listened to stories about Vinča extremely attentively and with a great amount of curiosity.
They found out how one of the first Balkan settlements emerged, how people lived in the second half of the Neolithic period, what they did, how they fed, and how they created little pieces of art.
While boys asked a plethora of questions on currencies, weapons and tools, girls were particularly intrigued by the stories about fashion, necklaces and bracelets from that period, since the appearance and the way of decorating jewelry are an unavoidable element in understanding and comprehending the culture of Vinča.
GETTING TO KNOW THE IMPRESSIVE UNDERWATER WORLD
The hospitable hosts of the Fisheries and Hydrobiology Center “Little Danube” welcomed students from Primary School Savremena and showed them the beautiful flora and fauna.
Primary students enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere and toured the public aquarium that had Danube fish species, a zoo with water birds, a small aquatic botanical garden, a fisheries museum, a house on water – stilt house, a corner dedicated to water and an island of evolution.
The young ones also gained new knowledge and became acquainted with the water ecosystem and the life within it.
By going on this trip, Savremena’s primary students once again showed a great love for nature.
