Life Skills Programme: Now we know how to protect ourselves in the digital world
In a time when more and more of our daily activities are moving into the digital space, understanding how to protect ourselves in the online environment is very important.
It is well known that lower-grade students at Primary School Savremena possess advanced digital skills and knowledge of information technology and robotics that we can only envy! That’s why all third-grade students had a unique opportunity to share their knowledge with Nikola Dragović, the principal and teacher at Information Technology High School – ITHS. In return, the students gained new skills on how to protect themselves on the internet.
We learned that it is very important which applications we use and which websites we visit because we discovered that there are some viruses that are like viruses that attack humans, but these attack only computers – and we want to take care of our computers and other devices.
We understood why it is important not to share our location on social networks or post other people’s photos without permission. Although we already knew, we were reminded that our parents and teachers want us to be safe, which is why we made an agreement to inform them first if we click somewhere we shouldn’t or if someone we don’t know tries to contact us.
Finally, we agreed to follow 10 simple rules for using the internet, so that both we and our friends can be safe in the digital world! These rules are designed to ensure their safety as well as the safety of their peers. In this way, students at Primary School Savremena not only build their technical skills but also become able to protect themselves in the digital world.
