In order to make chemistry lessons as interesting as possible, teacher Nikola Ivačić made an effort to really motivate students to master the course material! The students had the task of creating a 3D model of the structure of an atom.

In order to participate in this interesting project, the students had to know everything about the structure of an atom, that is, they had to know that an atom actually consists of a nucleus and an electron shell and that the nucleus contains protons and neutrons, whereas the shell contains electrons.

The students chose which element they will present, as well as the material, and there was no end to their creativity! For this project, they used ping pong balls, coloured sponge balls, tree branches, wire, and the most creative ones even came up with the idea that their mom’s flower pot stand would be a good base to display atoms.

They presented their works in the school hall on the first floor, so all students, even if they were just passing by, could get to see the interesting structures of different atoms. With projects like this, we prove how important it is to us that all our students learn through play, and how creative teaching methods are always our top priority.
