Holiday joys: culinary club’s delicious and fragrant treats
Honey cookies for the end of autumn and the beginning of winter; a perfect snack with tea
Thanks to the club that develops life skills, particularly culinary ones, Savremena’s hallways were once again filled with wonderful aromas. The little chefs and their teacher tried their hands at a well-known recipe from the time of their grandparents – honey cookies.
With a lot of attention, precision and interest they participated in a cake making workshop and then shared them with friends.

The time has come to decorate our dining tables with New Year’s sweets. One of the favourite treats in the festive season are honey cookies. And if they are craftily made, they can be a great edible decoration on the dining table or the Christmas tree.
The students prepare all sorts of treats in the highly entertaining culinary club lessons. After quince slatko, the little ones made their favourite winter cookies.
Everything started with the dough, which they had to knead using their hands and the rolling pin…
The cookies can keep for a very long time, several months even, and contain spices that are typical for wintertime, namely cinnamon and anise. Although each household has its own recipe for honey cookies, the one Savremena’s students opted for is tried and tested. The honey cookies are tasty, beautiful, decorative and, if wrapped well, the perfect gift under the Christmas tree.
Honey cookies are a traditional part of every holiday feast. They are quick and easy to make. Sometimes the flavour is upgraded with a bit of cocoa powder. All in all, the students had another unique experience and proved that they are truly interested in developing their life and cooking skills.
