Students from Savremena Primary School and International School, united in a team named Gamechangers, participated in the prestigious First Lego League competition. This competition, focusing on innovation and technological advancement, attracted young talents to showcase their abilities in robotics and programming.

Gamechangers demonstrated exceptional knowledge

The Gamechangers team, consisting of talented fifth-graders, showcased exceptional skill and team spirit. Throughout the three rounds of the competition, their results consistently improved, starting from 115 points in the first round, 160 points in the second, to an impressive 170 points in the final round. This success is not only an indicator of their dedication and effort but also of the high level of knowledge and skills they possess.

Unique competition in Serbia

The “FIRST LEGO League Explore” festival is an event that children look forward to for months. It encourages them to experiment and develop their design and construction skills through a fun and hands-on STEM approach. The robots used during the event are “SPIKE Essential” or “WeDo.” Led by their mentors, children devise and prepare a project on the assigned theme, create a motorized Lego model, and design panels and presentations. In this festival, children enter the world of robotics, technology, and science through play, learning how to function in a team, think critically, respect others’ ideas, exchange experiences, and collaborate.

First Lego League as an opportunity for new friendships

For their achievement, Gamechangers team members were awarded medals, further confirming their success in this competition. Besides the competitive spirit, the First Lego League also provided an opportunity to forge new friendships and enjoy a good atmosphere. During competition breaks, students from different schools had the chance to socialize and dance, adding another dimension of unity to the overall experience.

Programming from a young age and learning through play

The competition took place from 9 am to 6 pm, but fatigue could not diminish the enthusiasm and joy of the young participants. This experience served as inspiration for further improvement and exploration in the field of technology and robotics. The First Lego League, promoting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics among youth, provided students with a platform for development, learning, and fun, proving that learning through play is a powerful tool in educating future generations.
