Primary School Savremena supports the students and encourages them to compete with their peers from all over the world and showcase their knowledge. The Hippo language olympiad is an excellent opportunity for Savremena’s little “Englishpersons” to compete, succeed and make friends from faraway places.  

The Hippo “English without Borders” Olympiad is an international competition dedicated to promoting the English language, encouraging students from all over the word to compare their mastery of English and have fun. Its main goals are creating and nurturing friendly relations, international understanding and competitive spirit among young people from all over the world interested in the English language.

This competition also considerably improves the cooperation between teachers and students. Savremena has a reputation as a school where teachers are primarily true friends to their students. Diligent preparation for this competition was another way to build upon this approach. 

The following students achieved outstanding results and qualified for the next phase of the competition: 

• Maksim Joksimović, Itan Hays and Teodora Plavšić at third-grade level;
• Hajdi Gajić and Maja Milutinović at fifth-grade level;
• Đina Đinović, sixth-grade student; 
• seventh-graders Lena Lešnjak, Lilita Milčić, Katarina Savić and Vanja Pavlović;
• at eight-grade level – Zoe Devetak.

We are proud of our students’ achievements, and we would like to emphasise that our students Maja Milutinović and Zoe Devetak were brilliant in advanced categories, and that they are the only students from Serbia who qualified for the next phase at this level.
