Primary School Savremena regularly holds football, basketball, volleyball and table tennis tournaments, where children compete and develop their team spirit and love for sport. Regardless of results, everyone enjoys spending time with friends and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

MINIFOOTBALL, MAXI HEARTS AT SAVREMENA

Slowly but surely, the school minifootball tournament is becoming one of Primary School Savremena’s important traditions. This tournament brought together teams from grades 5 through 8. Each class had its own team, competing with a lot of heart to the very last moments of each game. This time, the winners who took the cup to their classroom, where it will be on proud display until the next tournament, were the students from VI-2. A special round of applause came from VII-1, last year’s winners, whose support culminated in handing over the cup.

FAIR PLAY AND FRIENDSHIP TRIUMPHANT AT VOLLEYBALL COURT

The most valuable takeaways from any competition are sporting friendship and team spirit. Sometimes one team wins, sometimes another, but all children are talented and they always show what a good volleyball game ought to look like. At the municipal competition for girls attending grades 6 and 7, Savremena’s team faced the girls from “Ivan Gundulić” primary school; this time, the opponents were a bit more successful, ending up with more points and taking the victory. Savremena’s volleyball players sincerely congratulated the opposing team, feeling genuinely happy for them, as sport teaches children respect and advances friendship.

SAVREMENA’S FIFTH- AND SIXTH-GRADERS PLAY SOME FINE BASKETBALL

The 3rd of November saw one of the more edge-of-the-seat matches Savremena’s sportspersons have been in recently – the basketball showdown between Savremena’s players from grades 5 and 6 and their peers from “Dragan Lukić” primary school. This did not end in a victory for Savremena, instead providing a life lesson that will encourage them to try to do even better in future and, most of all, remain a harmonious team that plays fair on the court and elsewhere alike.
