FIRST LEGO LEAGUE at Savremena

Collecting LEGO sets abd competition announcement

The first meeting of the mentors in the First LEGO League Explore, hosted and organised by  Primary School Savremena was held. The teams collected the LEGO sets necessary for the competition, as well as robots. Everyone is looking forward to May 28, and the beginning of the competition.

The FIRST LEGO League is a global program that introduces children to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) through the use of didactic materials and LEGO Education sets, which make problem solving fun and enjoyable for children.

By participating in the competition, children will have the opportunity to enter the world of programming, a subject they are familiar with from school. The idea is to use programming to help children reach solutions through logical thinking.

Savremena will be represented by two six-member teams, mentored by class teacher Danica Nikolić and subject teacher Maja Babić. We wish them good luck!

Programming from an early age improves academic achievement

Programming requires focus, concentration, tenacity and a can-do attitude. It is very important for the child’s overall development. Methods used in programming can help children acquire skills and values that facilitate learning and mastering learning material from different subjects.

Regardless of whether a child wants to become a programmer when they grow up, or shows affinity toward other areas of knowledge, IT education will help them become successful in any career they choose.
