First Family Day at Savremena: Delighted children and parents

Primary School Savremena welcomed all interested children and their parents on Saturday, 16 November, organising an unforgettable Family Day.

This event has been going on for a year now, but this is the first time it has been organised at the most state-of-the-art primary school in the region.

“We really enjoyed this Family Day. We are impressed with the classrooms at Savremena, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, and in addition to all other activities, we managed to learn how to properly apply technology in education” said parents of five-year-old Sara.

Nurturing creativity, logic games, sports and educational workshops

Children aged 5 to 12 and their parents had fun participating in engaging and creative workshops, and they showed greatest enthusiasm for educational applications.

Using the interactive Kahoot platform for tablets, the children competed against each other testing their knowledge of fairy tales and the most popular animated films.

“This is awesome! This is the first time I’m using something like Kahoot and participating in a quiz, and I learnt that students of this school have robotics lessons and robots. I love this school” said a nine-year-old enthusiastically.

Interactive workshops allowed the children to acquire knowledge of different areas through play and cooperation. The little maths geniuses stood out participating in fun math games, and creating their first video games in the IT Kids workshop.

The children had the opportunity to travel to Mars, try out different art techniques and familiarise themselves with the basic music elements on this educational journey made possible by the VR headset and the art and music workshops.

The parents spent an unforgettable day with their children

In addition to workshops, the parents were able to watch educational films, participate in interesting lectures and get answers from a psychologist and a speech therapist to all questions about the overall child development, growing up and education.

“It is a privilege to be surrounded with children’s joy, and a dedicated expert team. Together with parents, we at Savremena create a supportive and safe environment, which is something we all enjoy. I would like to point out the enrolment process for the new generation of students who will embark on an unforgettable adventure with us has begun” said Principal Jasmina Franolić.

The psychodramatic workshop The Power of Play caught the attention of the children, because it allowed them to learn to find spontaneous solutions for their needs, develop social skills, imagination and creativity together with their parents.

Until the next Family Day – we are ready to welcome new friends

The organisers of the Family Day – SPONE Sistem stimulacije and Primary School Savremena – provided parents and their children with an unforgettable get-together. They all enjoyed a pleasant visit to Savremena and participated in free educational workshops.
