Family Day to remember at Savremena
Interactive, creative and educational workshops for children aged between 5 and 12
The project SPONE Sistem Stimulacije, Primary School Savremena, and Savremena Gimnazija organised a free Family Day twice already, on 24 November and 22 December for parents and their children aged between 5 and 12 on the premises of Savremena in Masarikova Street.
Family Day is an event for the whole family, dedicated to contemporary education, creative workshops, get-togethers and fun where parents can get expert assessment on the development of their children.
A series of engaging activities for an unforgettable experience
Children were entertained by various IT toys during the Family Day. They were most fascinated by robots, and the VR glasses allowed them to ‘travel’ the world, visiting China, Paris, Dubai, Egypt, but also Mars. They flew over the mountains, swam with sharks, visited the pyramids, and came across various animals and different cultures.
“I loved that we could explore various cities”, said one of the youngest visitors of Family Day.
During the three hours of this event, the little ones were able to join in sports activities, drama, music and art workshops, practicing their gymnastic abilities and flexing their acting muscles, adopting and identifying the basic elements of music: rhythm, melody, dynamics and projecting their inner world through colours, shapes and creative work that included painting, drawing and playing with different materials.
“The children loved everything, but they spent most time participating in sports activities”, said Lidija, one of the mums who brought their children to the Savremena’s Family Day.
As the first Family Day caused a stir among parents and children alike, Savremena and SPONE organised another Family Day on 22 December, and scheduled the next one for 19 January.
Parents particularly interested in assessment of their children’s affinities
It wasn’t just the children who enjoyed the Family Day. The parents enjoyed it because their children spent a quality day filled with interesting and educational content.
“This project has organised activities specifically for parents, not just for children”, said Aleksandar Kuzmanović, creator of the SPONE Sistem Stimulacije project and Family Day.
The parents used this visit to talk to speech therapists, psychologists and other experts who helped them learn how to recognise and assess the affinities of their child in a timely manner, as well as how to stimulate the development of attention, memory, communication and speech.
Get-together to be remembered
In addition to workshops and professional advice for parents, the children will remember the Family Day by new acquaintances and great memories.
Through play and get-together, the children had the opportunity to see and try out the state-of-the-art technology, and to familiarise themselves with our educational applications by participating in the Kahoot quiz, testing their knowledge of fairy tales. And they did great!
The Principal of Savremena, Jasmina Franolić, points out that children who enrol at our school will be able to study in a similar environment.
“Extracurricular activities at Primary School Savremena include a variety of workshops that nurture children’s imagination, nourish their inner child, and teach them fundamental life skills”, said the Principal.
If you missed our Family Day, and if your children are aged between 5 and 12, we invite you to come to the next Family Day scheduled on Saturday, 19 January, in the same time slot as before – from 20 to 1 PM. Apply here »
