Excellent Results Achieved in Italy

Savremena students at the European level of the Hippo competition

Students of Savremena Primary School achieved outstanding success by qualifying for the European level of the Hippo English language competition, once again demonstrating a high level of knowledge, confidence in communication and readiness to present their language skills beyond the borders of our country. This result is a great source of pride for the school, teachers and parents, as well as a valuable experience for the students who had the opportunity to be part of an international competitive environment.

Hippo The Contest is an international English language competition which, according to the official website, has existed since 2013. In 2025, it gathered 93,260 students from 3,208 schools and 73 countries, which clearly shows how large, important and challenging this competition is. In such competition, qualifying for the European level is an outstanding achievement and confirmation of dedicated work. :contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}

The students who qualified for the European level were: Nataša Mosurović, Sofija Dupor, Lora Krasimirova Želeva, Lucy Scivally, Konstantin Jovanović, Marko Ponjević, Luka Marjanović, Natalia Damjanov, Nađa Otanjac and Jana Uskoković. Their success confirms that Savremena nurtures knowledge, good work habits, confidence and a love of languages.

A Valuable International Experience in Lido di Jesolo

After qualifying, Savremena students travelled to Italy, to Lido di Jesolo, where they took part in the European level of the Hippo competition. For them, this was much more than just a competition – it was an opportunity to meet peers from other countries, experience the atmosphere of an international event and gain memories they will cherish for a long time.

Competitions at this level require knowledge, concentration, responsibility and the ability to show what has been learned and practised throughout the year in a new environment. Our students did exactly that. They showed that they could stay focused, understand the tasks, apply their English language knowledge and represent their school with dignity.

In Lido di Jesolo, the students achieved the following results: Nataša Mosurović – 28 points, Konstantin Jovanović – 28 points, Lora Krasimirova Želeva – 28 points, Sofija Dupor – 24 points, Marko Ponjević – 27 points, Luka Marjanović – 26 points and Jana Uskoković – 28 points.

These results are a wonderful confirmation of their effort, dedication and confidence in using English, as well as proof that our students can successfully respond to the challenges of an international competition.

Language Knowledge Opens the Door to the World

Participation in the Hippo competition is important because it shows students that knowledge of English is not only a school skill, but also a tool that opens doors to new people, cultures, travels and experiences. When students have the opportunity to test their knowledge in an international environment, they gain additional confidence and a clearer understanding of how languages can help them in further education and life.

For Savremena students, this competition was an opportunity to connect everything they learn in class with real situations in which English is used as a means of communication. Such an experience encourages curiosity, develops confidence and motivates students to continue learning, exploring and improving.

We are especially pleased that our students showed not only knowledge and responsibility, but also openness to new experiences. Being part of a competition that brings together children from different countries means being part of a community that connects cultures, ideas and friendships through language.
