Eco-buddies: Primary school students and their friends from Savremena Gimnazija joined forces to plant a tree in the schoolyardStudents of Primary School Savremena and Savremena Gimnazija, as well as the members of the Eco Patrol, planted the first tree seedlings in the schoolyard on Friday, 15 November. Hanging out with their friends and enjoying a lively discussion on the importance of planting trees and vegetation, Savremena’s students sent an important message:

“We must protect the forests if we want to breathe deep, because every single tree will reward our kindness by providing us with clean air, fruits, shade and beauty.

How to plant a seedling is not all that students learnt today! The outdoor lesson inspired the primary school students to play, but they also learned something new from their older friends.

“Today we planted our first tree together with the secondary school students! I learnt why it is important to plant trees and why nature is so crucial to us.”

Primary school students spend their time together in the schoolyard every day, but today, they’ve made new friends among students of Savremena Gimnazija, and learnt something new.

Savremena’s students promoting environmental values

Savremena continuously strives to raise our students’ environmental awareness through educational and interactive workshops, outdoor lessons and other extracurricular activities. Recently, our fifth graders organised a fishing-for-litter action, and all our students regularly participate in environmental and humanitarian activities from the first day.
