Creative ballet and guitar lessons for developing the students’ talent
The development of a healthy personality implies creative and carefully designed activities
Savremena’s students enjoy a plethora of additional activities, the favourites being ballet and guitar lessons.
Both activities are healthy and inspiring, and positive sporting and artistic extracurricular activities.
BeoBalet workshop
The BeoBalet ballet workshop is intended for girls aged 6–12. Top-quality classes are held by professional coaches who are long-established partners of Savremena.
The 60-minute workshop takes place twice a week in the afternoon at Primary School Savremena. There are many benefits to practicing ballet; it is an inspiring and healthy activity and, as such, a positive sporting and artistic extracurricular addition to the curriculum.
The goal of ballet lessons is to increase the children’s motor skills and get them gradually used to the discipline required in group work. The little ballerinas make their first ballet steps to the sound of their favourite fairy tales and age-appropriate music. The lessons are designed in a way that allows students to learn through play and fun.
The students gradually receive more complex tasks and learn about group work. In time, they are expected to master more difficult ballet moves and choreography. They listen to more demanding music, make their first ballet “sentences”, and become more independent in their artistic expression. Special focus is placed on footwork and posture.
Creative guitar course
The creative guitar course/workshop is intended for students aged 8–15, and is led by prominent teachers who have already given creative classes at Primary School Savremena.
Beginners usually start on the classical guitar, as it is easier to master the basics and the modern playing techniques. Guitar lessons for students are planned in a way that doesn’t disrupt their school schedule or extracurricular activities.
The teachers strive to inspire the students to learn about their instrument and practice at home by making the lessons as entertaining as possible. Regular practice and focus on musical form improve the children’s sense of discipline and responsibility, increase their observation skills and confidence levels, and develop their creativity and logic.
Research suggests that children who play an instrument have better motor skills, memory, focus, organisation and planning skills, and emotion processing.
