A stimulating environment for the development of multiple intelligence, creative approach to education and dedicated teachers are just some of the elements of the innovative teaching practice that makes Savremena a truly different school. Our Corner day is one of our truly different ways to learn through play. 

Thanks to the innovations introduced by Savremena, we can manage to fulfill our mission – to help each child get quality education that will prepare them for continued education and a happy childhood and adulthood.

The idea to organize Corner day for junior students arose from our mission. Thanks to the varied selection of workshops which link content from different school subjects, Savremena students were able to get to know science from a completely different perspective, and had fun in the process.

We got rid of stage fright and entered the world of acting, music and arts

The main challenge of any successful educational process is to recognize the talents of each student, and enable them to develop their full potential. The Puppet show workshop helped students discover their love of theater and acting. A completely new world opened to them, and they did great as actors, demonstrating a high level of creativity and improvisation skill. The skills they acquired in this workshop can be applied in everyday life and various professional situations.

While some children enjoyed acting, others sang, danced, and learned new dance moves. Dancing is extremely beneficial for everyone, especially children, so they should be encouraged to enjoy music and dance. 

The art workshop also attracted a great interest, encouraging students to develop their artistic style and taste, and discover how creative they are. Researching visual arts is an integral part of the learning process, and crucial for comprehensive development of children.

We are never lacking in physical prowess, adventurous spirit and desire for knowledge

Savremena students love geography, and this time, they tested their knowledge by playing a well-known game – fun geography. By talking about rivers, mountains, countries and cities, they reviewed and refreshed their knowledge of geography, and learned many new things in the process.

Physical activity not only contributes to physical health, but is also important for school achievement, and developing one’s motor skills, cognitive development (attention and concentration), social competencies, emotional maturity, and teamwork. This is why our workshop Interesting polygons, dedicated to physical activity, was held in the school yard.

There is an adventurous spirit hidden in every student. Children love to explore, discover things and unravel mysteries. They get even more interested when you give them more challenging questions and tasks. They will definitely want to repeat this workshop in one of the next classes.
