A charity bazaar at Savremena recently started. It is an event that we regularly organise in cooperation with parents and students. The idea behind the bazaar is for children to express their creativity by making different handicrafts which we then sell, and the money from the sale is donated to charity.

Alongside their teacher Ivana Dimitrijević and with the support of the entire teaching staff of the school, Savremena’s students turned their great ideas into real, tangible objects with great enthusiasm and dedication this October. One could see unique objects of various purposes lined up at the stand of our bazaar – from jewelry boxes, and picture frames to humorous drawings and various other wonderful works of our creative students.

As the environment has a special place in Savremena, the main theme while creating these objects was recycling, so we used this opportunity to bring the importance of environmental awareness to children.

The parents of the students were also thrilled about this initiative, and their support is always especially important for the children. After the end of the bazaar, which lasts until the end of October, we will donate all the money collected from the sale to charity.

The children enjoyed creating things, but in addition to that, they also spontaneously became aware of the message that their creativity can make this world a better place. At Savremena, it is important for us that children understand that by nurturing their creativity, they are also doing good for the whole society.
