Celebration held in honour of eighth-grade students
Marking the successful completion of our eighth graders' education
Traditionally, on Vidovdan, the eighth-grade students, our little graduates, were awarded their final report cards, as well as awards for the most successful students – the valedictorian, the pride of the generation, and recipients of the Vuk’s diploma. Dositej’s diplomas and awards for students who achieved success in competitions were also presented.
The ceremony took place in the beautiful surroundings of the school courtyard at Primary School Savremena. Parents eagerly awaited the class teachers to call out their children’s names so that they could receive their report cards and certificates of completion. Milena Tarbuk, the school principal, delivered the opening remarks, warmly welcomed all attendees and provided an introduction to the event.
Dressed in ceremonial togas, the students proudly emerged from the school as their class teachers announced each of them with heartfelt anecdotes from their school lives and the time spent together. The students’ appearances on stage were accompanied by applause, the pride of parents and a few tears of joy.
The loudest applause was given to our valedictorian, Siniša Petrović Josimović, a student from class VIII-2. In addition to his exceptional performance in regular classes and successfully completing each grade of primary school with all straight A’s, Siniša won numerous awards in competitions. His greatest achievement was at this year’s national biology competition. Class VIII-2 also celebrated the accomplishments of two more recipients of Vuk’s and Dositej’s diplomas, Ana Ljuština and Andrej Bovduj. In addition to having straight A’s in all subjects throughout her schooling, Ana was honoured for her outstanding efforts in physics, while Andrej Bovduj received Dositej’s diploma for his remarkable achievements in the national robotics competition.
The students from class VIII-1 who were declared the pride of the generation, and were also recipients of the Vuk’s and Dositej’s diplomas, are Filip Perišić and Aleksa Rikić. They excelled in competitions in robotics, French, and English. Class VIII-1 also had two more recipients of Vuk’s and Dositej’s diplomas, Lilita Milčić and Vuk Virić. Lilita achieved great success in an international English language competition and excelled in Serbian language studies, while Vuk Virić achieved success in robotics. Andrej Ranković, a student from the same class, was honoured with Dositej’s diploma for his exceptional achievement in physics.
The school principal presented awards to the most successful students, congratulated all the students on completing primary school, and wished them success in their future education.
The celebration continued with photography sessions and the traditional tossing of graduation caps. A toast with champagne for children provided a moment of well-deserved relaxation and an exchange of positive energy.
We look forward to such successful endings and believe that we will have many more generations that we will genuinely be proud of.
