Bring Your Favorite Book – a day when reading becomes an adventure

World Book Day celebration

Second-grade students celebrated Book Day in a creative and inspiring way, transforming their classrooms into spaces where books come to life. During their English lessons, students were invited to bring their favorite book and share it with their classmates. Many took this task a step further by coming dressed as their favorite literary characters.

From the very beginning, it was clear how much the students enjoyed this activity. The classroom was filled with colorful characters and stories, each book bringing its own magic. Many girls presented characters from the Isadora Moon series, while boys proudly shared their enthusiasm for Dog Man adventures.

This activity encouraged students to reflect on the stories they had read, while also developing their communication and public speaking skills. By talking about books, they learned how to express their thoughts clearly and listen respectfully to others.

Books as a bridge to imagination and knowledge

Through presenting their favorite books, students demonstrated how inspiring reading can be. Many prepared additional elements such as drawings, masks, and props, bringing their favorite characters even closer to life. In this way, books moved beyond the page and became part of a creative and playful experience.

Lessons were filled with collaboration and support. Students recommended books to each other, asked questions, and discovered new titles they would like to read. This approach helps build strong reading habits, while also boosting confidence and a sense of belonging.

The value of this activity lies in connecting reading with students’ personal interests, creating deeper motivation for learning and exploration.

Small stories that build great readers

Celebrating Book Day in this way once again highlighted the importance of nurturing a love for reading from an early age. When students explore books through play and creativity, reading becomes more than a task – it becomes a source of joy and inspiration.

These moments remain memorable and encourage students to continue exploring the world of literature. Through sharing experiences and learning together, students develop an awareness of the importance of reading and how books enrich everyday life.

In the end, the message was simple yet powerful – every book holds a new adventure, and every reader can become a part of it.
