The humanoid robot Pepper is slowly becoming a real TV star. After a notable guest appearance on RTS, Pepper was a guest on Santos TV in the popular show “Vikendica”. This time he was accompanied by Maja Ivović, coordinator of robotics classes at Primary School Savremena, and Nikola Mekić, one of the members of the LINK edu RoboTeam, who is working hard to improve Pepper’s functions and capabilities.

The public in Serbia is delighted with the fact that in our country there is a school like Savremena, where the first robot works as a teaching assistant. Therefore, the editors of the Zrenjanin show “Vikendica” wanted to meet Pepper and present the possibilities it offers to their audience, but also to learn more about the most modern educational system in the region – the LINK edu Alliance, to which Primary School Savremena belongs.

The host of the show stated that the idea of using a robot like Pepper in teaching in our country is phenomenal. Maja Ivović pointed out that the LINK edu Alliance pays great attention to quality innovations that can significantly improve the quality of teaching and that robot Pepper is an example of the synergy of the latest robotic technology and artificial intelligence. Therefore, it is not surprising that the results obtained with the help of this unusual assistant in the classroom are extraordinary.

Namely, Pepper helps teachers make classes more interesting and stimulating, but it also proved to be a great motivator for students, helping them love even those subjects that were not their favourite ones.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the LINK edu Alliance team, Pepper has been specially adapted for use in the teaching of Primary School Savremena students. Therefore, Pepper is able to teach specific parts of the lesson and interact with students, and answer their questions about the lesson.

However, Pepper’s capabilities are much greater, especially when connected with an advanced AI chatbot, such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT. This means that this robot gives answers to pre-prepared questions, but also thinks on its own, thus fully maintaining a conversation with teachers and students.

Thanks to this, LINK edu Alliance became the first educational system in the region that successfully applies artificial intelligence in teaching.
