A Week of Solidarity and Togetherness at Savremena Elementary School

Through meaningful actions, students showed how empathy, friendship, humanity, and support are nurtured

During the first week of May, Savremena Elementary School marked the Week of Solidarity and Togetherness, a special period dedicated to the values we nurture every day in our school community. Guided by the idea that empathy, humanity, friendship, and responsibility are best learned through concrete experiences, each class received a special task to carry out in its own way.

The tasks were different, but they were all connected by the same mission: to show students how togetherness is built through small, thoughtful, and sincere actions. Through songs, games, creative work, visits, humanitarian actions, sports, letters of support, and joint projects, students showed that kindness is not just a word, but a choice we make every day.

This week reminded us that school is not only a place of learning, but also a space where character, empathy, and a sense of belonging are developed.

Preschoolers – Sing a Song About Love and Perform It as a Choir

Our preschoolers showed that the most beautiful messages are often shared through song. Their task was to sing a song about love and perform it as a choir, and they did so sincerely, joyfully, and with great emotion. Through singing together, they learned how every child’s voice contributes to the whole, just as every good deed contributes to the community.

Students from I-1 showed that caring for the community begins with the space in which we live and which we share every day. Equipped with gloves and garbage bags, they organized a small environmental action and cleaned the surrounding area. In this way, they learned that responsibility toward nature and the environment is not only a big topic, but a concrete action that each of us can take.

Their decorations were not just decoration, but a visual reminder of the values we want to live every day.

II-2 – Perform Role Play in Class – ‘Bring the Story to Life’

Class II-2 showed through the role-play activity “Bring the Story to Life” how important life messages can be understood through acting and shared experience. Students from V-3 planted plants for their classroom and showed that caring for the space around us is an important part of togetherness. A Week That Reminded Us What It Means to Be a Community

The Week of Solidarity and Togetherness showed how different tasks can carry one shared message. Each class contributed in its own way, but together they all showed that empathy, humanity, friendship, and responsibility are best understood when they are turned into action.

Through songs, games, visits, creative work, humanitarian actions, sports, letters, and joint projects, students learned that kindness is not something big and distant, but something we can choose every day.

We are proud of all the students and teachers who took part in this project and showed that Savremena Elementary School is not only a place of education, but a community where knowledge, character, and heart grow.
