A healthy diet for a mighty body and mind

Savremena chefs prepared salads rich in vitamins

At Savremena, students learn all the life skills which will help them find their way in the world around us and to be as independent as possible, and these include culinary skills. A healthy and adequate diet which meets the needs of a young person’s body is a priority at Savremena.

Spring is upon us and that means lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. Savremena students have used this opportunity to make fruit salads, juices, and fruit and vegetable smoothies. We are delighted that the children are showing initiative when it comes to having a healthy diet and are using the culinary club to maintain a healthy attitude to nutrition and strive to eat properly.

Healthy habits are developed at an early age and the culinary club has taught the students of Savremena that it’s important to get enough vitamins and minerals so as to prevent your cognitive abilities and achievements in school from stagnating. They’ve learnt that maintaining your health is important for improving your concentration and a will to learn, but also if you want to be happy, inquisitive, full of energy, and ready to play.

The fact that a balanced diet has an impact not only on physical, but also on mental health speaks volumes about its importance. A higher intake of sugar and sweets in small children is linked with poor concentration and difficulties in learning. For this reason, Savremena pays attention to children’s education and what makes this even more wonderful is that Savremena students encourage each other to have a healthy diet in order to have enough energy and thus be as successful as possible during the school day.
