A day full of adventure: Savremena pupils explore the Magical Zoo and Nautical Village
Year 2 and Year 3 pupils enjoyed a day surrounded by nature, discovering animals, exploring imaginative cottages and taking part in sports and games
A school day can turn into a wonderful adventure, especially when learning, play and friendship move beyond the classroom and into nature. That is exactly what happened when Year 2 and Year 3 pupils at Savremena Primary School enjoyed a day trip filled with exciting activities, new experiences and time together.
Their first stop was the Magical Zoo, where they had the opportunity to see different animals and explore an unusual setting. One of the highlights was a train ride through the farm, making the visit even more enjoyable and adding an extra sense of excitement to the experience.
The adventure continued with a visit to the Smurf and Hobbit cottages, whose unusual appearance captured the children’s imagination. Surrounded by this fairytale-like setting, pupils enjoyed playing, exploring and spending time with their friends.
Afterwards, the group headed to the Nautical Village, where the day continued with sporting activities and opportunities for socialising. It was another chance for the children to stay active, relax and enjoy shared experiences outside their usual school environment.
At Savremena Primary School, trips like this are an important part of the educational experience. They give children opportunities to explore the world around them, develop curiosity and strengthen friendships through experiences that create lasting memories.

From animals and train rides to fairytale cottages
The visit to the Magical Zoo gave pupils a wonderful opportunity to spend time outdoors and discover the animal world in a different way. Rather than simply reading about animals or looking at pictures, they could observe them in person and experience the surroundings of a farm.
The train ride through the farm was one of the particularly enjoyable parts of the excursion. Pupils could take in the surroundings while sharing the excitement of the journey with their classmates, making the experience even more memorable.
The Smurf and Hobbit cottages added another imaginative element to the day. Their unusual appearance encouraged curiosity and provided an inviting setting for exploration and play, reminiscent of the magical worlds children encounter in their favourite stories.
Following these adventures, the pupils continued their excursion at the Nautical Village, where sporting activities and time with friends brought a lively end to the day’s programme. Through physical activity and shared games, they had opportunities to practise teamwork, cooperation and mutual understanding.
Experiences like these are particularly valuable for younger children, as they encourage independence, strengthen friendships and help pupils feel part of a supportive group.
Every shared activity offers an opportunity to discover something new, communicate with others and build confidence in unfamiliar settings.
This is why school trips at Savremena are more than a change of routine. They bring together learning, imagination, physical activity and friendship, creating experiences that contribute to children’s personal and social development.
At Savremena, learning extends beyond the classroom
Education at Savremena Primary School involves much more than learning from textbooks. Particular attention is given to experiences that encourage children to explore, ask questions, develop essential skills and better understand the world around them.
School trips and outdoor activities therefore play an important role in school life. Spending time in nature, discovering animals, playing together and participating in sports can encourage curiosity, independence, communication and social development. Through such experiences, pupils practise cooperation, consideration for others and the importance of friendship.
What made this excursion especially enjoyable was the variety of activities. From the Magical Zoo and train ride through the farm to the Smurf and Hobbit cottages and sports at the Nautical Village, each part of the day offered something different to discover and enjoy.
At Savremena, children are encouraged to learn through direct experience. Activities suited to their age and interests help them develop confidence, build relationships and approach new situations with openness and enthusiasm.
The Year 2 and Year 3 pupils returned from their trip with shared memories, new impressions and plenty of stories to tell. Days like this are a reminder that play, friendship and experiential learning are essential parts of a happy and fulfilling school experience.
