Young Competitors — Table Tennis Tournament
Sportsmanship, teamwork, and excellent results marked the outstanding performance of our students at a major city competition
As part of Children’s Week, students of Savremena Primary School took part in a creative and educational activity called “The Tree of Feelings.” The goal of this activity was to encourage children to recognise, name, and share their emotions in a simple, honest, and safe way. On a large tree set up in the school lobby, students left small, colourful notes on which they wrote how they were feeling at that moment.
Students of Savremena Primary School took part in the city table tennis tournament and achieved remarkable results, competing against more than 30 schools and 96 participants from across Belgrade. Our representatives showed exceptional sporting spirit, determination, and teamwork, once again proving that Savremena nurtures and encourages the diverse talents of its students.

Excellent performance in the individual category
The school was represented by Jegor Busigin (7/1), Teodor Nikolić (7/2), Uroš Stojaković (8/2), and Đorđe Bojičić (8/2).
All students qualified for the next stage of the competition, demonstrating impressive fighting spirit and strong technique in their groups — despite practicing the sport recreationally.
A special achievement was recorded by Đorđe Bojičić, who ranked among the top 32 players in the individual category. In the decisive match for the top 16, he faced a strong opponent — last year’s third-best player in Serbia — and gave an outstanding performance in a tense, high-quality match.
Team spirit and top 16 team placement
After the individual matches, the team competition followed, where our students proudly represented their school as a true team. Among 32 school teams, Savremena Primary School placed in the top 16 teams in Belgrade, an impressive result considering that none of the team members train table tennis professionally outside of school.
Their diligent team preparations at school proved to be an excellent foundation for their successful performance, while their competitive spirit and mutual support contributed to this significant sporting achievement.
School pride
Students and mentors expressed great satisfaction with the results, emphasising that participating in such competitions is a valuable experience that fosters teamwork, self-confidence, and sportsmanship.
Savremena Primary School congratulates the students on their outstanding achievement and is proud of their commitment, fair play, and enthusiasm at this important sports event.
