When children create, the world becomes better
Play that shapes the world – Kids create animals from clay
In their art classes, the preschoolers at Savremena had the opportunity to use clay to create animals from their imaginative worlds. This activity was not just fun – it helped children develop fine motor skills and concentration. Through making animals, the little ones learned to follow shapes and details, which is essential for their cognitive development. Additionally, clay allowed them to express themselves in a unique way, creating personal artistic works that reflect their emotions and ideas. Through the process of play, children learned to connect their feelings with creation, developing emotional literacy and self-awareness.

Together through play – building, creating, connecting
The children worked in groups, exchanging ideas and helping one another in the creation of their animals. Through teamwork, the children learned how to communicate, cooperate, and solve problems together. Every figure, no matter how simple, carried deep meaning for each student. Through these activities, the children developed social skills, such as empathy, as they learned to recognize and respect their peers’ emotions. Working together on a project strengthened their mutual connection, which is fundamental for building friendships and developing healthy relationships in life.
Art as a tool to explore the world around us
Through creative tasks, the children were also exploring the world and learning to connect with their feelings and the world around them. Making animals out of clay allowed them to express themselves in a natural way, using colors, shapes, and textures. This activity helped them develop not only creativity but also the ability to recognize and name their feelings, which is crucial for their emotional growth. In this way, art became a bridge that helped them better understand themselves and others, fostering compassion and mutual respect.
Savremena – A school that combines play, art, and knowledge
At Savremena Primary School, education is not just about knowledge transfer, but also about personal growth. Our students not only learn how to solve tasks but also how to develop their social skills, emotional literacy, and creativity. Through activities like making animals out of clay, children build the foundation for developing their talents while becoming empathetic and responsible individuals. These activities help them understand how their emotions, thoughts, and feelings can contribute to the group, while also developing a strong bond with their peers. At Savremena, we don’t just educate students – we nurture individuals who will one day contribute to a better society.
