“We are truly impressed by the quality of teaching at Savremena Primary School!”
Collaboration, trust, and recognition of excellence
An important visit that confirms the high quality of work and international credibility of the school.
Savremena Primary School had the honour of hosting distinguished representatives of Cambridge International Education — Caroline Greener (International Marketing Manager – Cambridge Insight), Sara Ceroni (International Education Manager), and Lloyd Jeeves (Curriculum Development Manager).Cambridge International Education is one of the most prestigious educational organisations in the world. During this important visit, the discussions focused on key topics that shape modern education — from the integration of national and international programmes, innovative teaching practices, and the use of technology, to future forms of cooperation.
The visit confirmed that Savremena Primary School is recognised not only as a leader in Serbia but also as a model of good practice that can serve as an inspiration to other schools across the region. The guests emphasised that they were impressed not only by the school’s results but also by its atmosphere, the relationship between students and teachers, and the overall quality of the educational process.

''An excellent example of integrating national and Cambridge programmes''
One of the key topics of the visit was the successful integration of the national curriculum with the Cambridge curriculum. Caroline Greener, Sara Ceroni and Lloyd Jeeves highlighted that they were “deeply impressed by the way the school has managed to combine the two systems into a single, functional and inspiring model of teaching.”
They were particularly amazed by the fact that students whose first language is Serbian follow the programme in English with ease and achieve outstanding results on the Cambridge Checkpoint exams. “What Savremena is doing is an excellent example of integration — you are giving your students the best of both the national and international education systems. It is impressive how confident the children are in using English and how successfully they master the curriculum followed by students all over the world,” the guests noted. They also added that “the mapping and alignment of the two curricula has been done at an exceptionally high level,” and that the results students achieve are proof of the quality of this approach.
“I’ve never seen such rich and interactive technological content in a primary school before.”
The guests toured classrooms and school facilities and were introduced to the school’s interactive teaching practices. Special attention was given to the Robotics Lab, where students demonstrated how they develop digital skills through modern technology. The Cambridge representatives pointed out that this combination of education and technology is what makes modern schooling unique and future-oriented. “The school radiates warmth and energy. You can immediately sense the positive climate, both among teachers and students. Visiting the Robotics Lab was a real highlight — I’ve never seen such rich and interactive technological content in a primary school. Students have the opportunity to learn through hands-on experience and exploration, which is extremely valuable,” said Caroline Greener, Sara Ceroni and Lloyd Jeeves. They also emphasised how impressed they were with the students’ active participation in classes — asking questions, collaborating and engaging — which reflects a high level of motivation and involvement.
