Viktor Evgo Won Second Place at Recitation Competition
Success at Municipal Recitation Competition
Viktor Evgo, a third-grade student at Savremena Primary School, won second place at the municipal recitation competition. Among young performers who interpreted literary works, Viktor stood out with the quality of his performance, understanding of the text, and ability to convey through voice, intonation, and presence the emotion behind the words.
Recitation is not just memorizing text – it is the skill of interpretation. A student who stands before a jury and audience must understand what the author is saying, feel what the character or poet feels, and convey that through voice. Viktor succeeded in this. And the jury recognized that behind every verse or sentence stands a child who understands what they are reading, not just reproducing learned text. Second place at the municipal competition confirms that Viktor masters this skill – and that he is ready to continue developing it.

Recitation as an Educational Skill
Many parents ask – why is recitation important? Isn’t it enough for a child to read? But recitation is much more than reading aloud. It is practice in public speaking, controlling stage fright, clearly articulating thoughts. It is the development of oratory skills that a child will need throughout their entire life – in school, at university, at work, in every situation when they need to stand before others and say something clearly, confidently, and convincingly.
Through recitation, children also develop emotional intelligence – the ability to understand the emotions of others, to immerse themselves in a character, to recognize nuances in language. And self-confidence is built – because there is no greater exercise in courage than standing before an audience and showing what you have prepared. Viktor went through all of this. And from second place, he left more confident, more experienced, and more prepared for future challenges.
Why Savremena Nurtures Such Talents
At Savremena Primary School, success is not measured only by grades. It is also measured by how children develop different skills – sports, artistic, scientific, oratorical. When the school recognizes that a child is talented in recitation, music, sports, or anything else, it provides support – not only through teaching, but also through encouragement to participate in competitions, to test their abilities, to experience what it means to represent the school.
Because education is not just knowledge from books. Education is also the courage to stand before others. The ability to express what I feel. The skill to control stage fright and speak clearly. And recitation builds all of this – slowly, through practice, through performances like this one.
Congratulations to Viktor Evgo on winning second place at the municipal recitation competition! Your success shows that effort, understanding of text, and courage bring results. We are proud of you! 🎭📖
