An art class inspired by a special guest

Technology and education hand in hand

Savremena first-graders showed just how imaginative and curious they are – during their art class, they expressed the wish to draw robot Pepper, whom they had met during his recent visit to the school. The very encounter with the humanoid robot was an unforgettable experience for them, and drawing gave them the opportunity to put their memories and emotions on paper.

Art through inspiration

Pepper won the students over with his appearance, movements, and ability to talk to them. His friendly tone and natural interaction left a strong impression on the children. In class, inspired by his “character,” they decided to portray him exactly as they experienced him – through colours, lines, and shapes. Some drew Pepper standing beside them and talking, others holding hands or playing together, while some let their imagination run free and placed him in their own little fantasy worlds.

A teaching assistant students love

Savremena is the only school in the region that has such a teaching assistant in the classroom – a humanoid robot who connects technology, play, and learning. Thanks to artificial intelligence, Pepper recognises a child’s smile and curious look, responds to questions, and involves students in tasks. He is not just a demonstration of technology, but a true partner to teachers and a friend to students, making Savremena a genuine pioneer of modern education. This is exactly what sets the school apart – the opportunity for children to become part of the future through play and modern tools, right here and now.

Creative memories of the encounter

Through their drawings, the first-graders showed how they see their meeting with Pepper – some depicted him as a cheerful friend in the classroom, others as a teacher who helps with learning, and some as a hero from an imaginary world. Each drawing was unique and represented a little window into children’s perception and their way of expressing emotions.

Hoping for a new meeting

The kids are now eagerly waiting for Pepper to step into their classroom again and “see” their drawings. Their curiosity and readiness to learn in a new, interactive way once again confirmed how important art is for developing children’s imagination, as well as how naturally innovation is integrated into education at Savremena Primary School.
