Tijana Nikolić
Extracurricular Activities Assistant
She began her musical education at the Mokranjac Music School, in the string department. After completing lower music school, she chose to pursue two fields of study – Music Theory and Traditional Folk Singing.
In 2017, she enrolled at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, where she studied Music Pedagogy within the field of music studies.
In 2018, she took part in the Summer Art School in Leskovac, organised by the University of Arts in Belgrade. That same year, she also attended the Folklore Camp in Tršić, organised by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development. In 2019, she published a research paper entitled The Individuality of Gusle Performers: The Examples of Milutin Đuričić and Marko Matić, which was included in the collection Mladi i srbistika.
In 2020, she published her second research paper, Female Characters in Epic Poems about the Battle of Kosovo, in the collection Mladi i srbistika II. That same year, she became a vocalist in the singing groups Sveti car David and Dankina brojanica.
In 2021, she graduated from the Faculty of Music in Belgrade with an average grade of 9.61, specialising in Music Pedagogy. The same year, she enrolled in a master’s programme in Applied Music Research at the same faculty.
From 4 to 19 April 2022, she completed a professional internship at Radio Television of Serbia (RTS).
During her master’s studies, she explored software for digital music notation, music production, music databases, and music-related annotation in greater depth. In 2022, she participated in the Music/ian is Present entrepreneurship camp in Novi Sad, supported by DEMUSIS. That same year, she defended her master’s thesis entitled Illustrations – Promoting the Profession of Composer through a Series of Short Films, earning the title of Master Theorist of Arts. She completed her master’s studies with an average grade of 10.00.
During her studies, she received a scholarship from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, as well as the Dositeja Scholarship awarded by the Fund for Young Talents. From February to September 2023, she worked as a music educator at the Vučko Preschool Institution in Borča.
That same year, she participated in an International Scientific Conference organised by the Faculty of Education, where she presented the paper Preschool Education during the COVID-19 Crisis – Shortcomings and/or New Opportunities. The abstract was published in the conference proceedings, Education during the COVID-19 Pandemic: Experiences and Lessons Learned.
She also participated in the international BimBam Conference, where she completed the professional development programme Muzikogram – I Listen, I See, I Understand, gaining competencies K1, K5, K12, K14 and K23. In addition, she attended various training courses and seminars focused on early childhood stimulation, learning through movement, and the development of motor skills, coordination and memory.
Following this training, she became a certified BimBam trainer and began working as a music associate at the BimBam Music Centre in Belgrade. From September 2023, she worked as a Music Teacher at the private Vladislav Petković Dis Primary and Secondary School, as well as an associate for music and folklore workshops within the Kids Learning System programme.
