Team Spirit in Action: “Big Brother, Big Sister” in P.E. Class

Students shared their unity and positive energy with Class I-1 during the lesson “Team Spirit – The Way to the Top!”

Today at Primary School Savremena, we held another inspiring activity within the “Big Brother, Big Sister” project, which fosters cooperation, empathy, and mutual support among students of different ages. The theme of the day was “Team Spirit – The Way to the Top!”, and the guests were students from Class III-1, known for their strong sense of unity and teamwork.

Their mission was to share that spirit with their younger peers from Class I-1 – and they truly did just that.

Talking, understanding, and supporting – the foundation of every great team

The lesson began with a conversation. The students from III-1 talked to the first graders about how they solve problems, whether they ever argue, how they make peace, how they organize into teams, and how they react when someone falls or gets hurt. Their honest stories and thoughtful advice were met with curiosity and open ears, while the younger students eagerly asked questions and related the experiences to their own.

This part of the class encouraged reflection on the importance of support, patience, and togetherness – not only in sports, but in life.

Movement as proof of true team strength

After the discussion, it was time for action – physical activities and team games that brought together students from I-1 and III-1. In exercises that required coordination, cooperation, and communication, the older students showed what real team spirit looks like: they guided their younger peers, encouraged them, shared tips, and celebrated every success together.

The gym was filled with energy, joy, and motivation – a perfect example of how P.E. can also be a lesson in heart and character.

Together to the top – through trust, empathy, and support

This class showed just how much students can learn from one another when they are given the chance to be both mentors and learners, both role models and friends. At Savremena, we believe that some of the most important life lessons are learned outside of textbooks – through connection, trust, and shared experience.

A big thank-you to our wonderful Class III-1 students for sharing their team spirit and for giving such a meaningful lesson to their younger peers. We look forward to more shared classes, new stories, and growing values – together, day by day.
