Second Graders Create a “Friendship Puzzle” as Part of the Week of Unity

Messages of Love, Understanding and Support

As part of the Week of Unity, second-grade students at Primary School Savremena demonstrated creativity, empathy and team spirit through an original idea – the creation of a Friendship Puzzle. During their art class, the children wrote messages celebrating friendship, love, understanding and respect, and then transformed them into pieces of a large class puzzle.

Each student designed and decorated their own puzzle piece, adding a heartfelt message. Only when all the pieces were assembled did the full picture emerge – a symbolic artwork that shows how every child matters, and how together, we create something greater and more beautiful.

One Heart, Many Hands

That day, the classroom became a small studio filled with colours, smiles and cooperation. While drawing, colouring and thinking about what to write, the students helped one another, shared ideas and learned from each other. What stood out most was not only the warm and sincere words they chose, but also the atmosphere of collective effort and shared joy.

At the end of the class, the puzzle was placed on display – a collaborative work of art that spoke louder than words: the true strength of a class lies in unity, acceptance and teamwork.

Small Steps Towards Big Values

Through this activity, students learned that unity is built through every kind gesture, every encouraging word and every smile. The Friendship Puzzle now decorates their classroom wall, serving as a daily reminder that friendship and togetherness are the foundation of a strong class and a healthy school environment.

Primary School Savremena continues to nurture values of mutual respect and learning through experience, believing that a true community is built through small but sincere acts.
