To mark Teacher’s Day, students of Savremena Primary School decided to surprise their teachers in the most sincere and meaningful way — with personal, heartfelt presentations created entirely by them. Throughout the week, they worked on choosing photos, writing messages and shaping their ideas about what they wanted to say.
The classrooms were filled with excitement and focused effort as students practised presenting, selected colours and layouts, and discussed what makes their teachers special. Many of them practised speaking in front of their classmates, learning how to express appreciation in a clear and respectful way.
When the moment finally came, the atmosphere was warm and emotional. Each child had the chance to stand in front of the class and say something honest, kind and deeply personal about the people who guide them every day.

The presentations were overflowing with touching sentences students crafted on their own — authentic, emotional and full of appreciation. Many teachers were visibly moved as students highlighted values such as patience, kindness, dedication and the ability to listen and understand.
One student created a full presentation about her English teacher, structured into sections such as About my teacher, Why I like her, Her personality, What I learned from her and Conclusion. Every slide contained warm thoughts, including: “Her smile makes the whole class feel happy and welcome.”
Another presentation celebrated Teacher Branka as “a champion of teamwork”, supported by an image symbolizing unity and collaboration. Students explained how she encourages them to help one another, work as a team and always show respect.
These messages show not only how much students appreciate their teachers, but also how deeply they understand the values teachers model every single day. Their words were not simple compliments — they were heartfelt acknowledgments of the bond built through trust, support and genuine care.

This year’s Teacher’s Day at Savremena was special not because of ceremony, but because of the children who turned it into a celebration of gratitude and kindness. Teachers shared that this experience reminded them why they chose a profession that is lived with heart, not just performed.
Students spoke proudly and openly, while teachers listened with warmth and emotion, cherishing every moment. Events like this strengthen the culture of gratitude, empathy and mutual respect — values at the very core of Savremena’s educational philosophy.
It was also a powerful reminder of how important it is to teach children to recognise the good in others and express appreciation — through words, gestures or small acts of kindness. These meaningful moments create a school environment where every child feels seen, valued and supported.
