Savremena Primary School proudly hosted the first mentors’ meeting for teams participating in the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) competition in Serbia, gathering representatives of Challenge, Explore, and Discover categories.

The 2025/26 season brings an inspiring new theme — Archaeology — inviting young innovators to explore humanity’s past and connect it with the technologies of the future. During the meeting, mentors reviewed all the missions and challenges for this season, discussed strategies, and set the roadmap for upcoming events.

The FIRST LEGO League Challenge competition is scheduled to take place on 22 February 2026, hosted by Savremena, which will once again be the center of innovation, creativity, and teamwork. The atmosphere among mentors was filled with enthusiasm and ideas, united by the same goal — to inspire students to learn through curiosity, exploration, and invention.

 The FLL Challenge program is designed for students aged 10 to 17, and it combines robotics, coding, and problem-solving with teamwork and real-world creativity. Through four key program areas — Robot Game, Innovation Project, Robot Design, and Core Values — students build and program their robots, develop innovative projects, and demonstrate how science and empathy can work hand in hand.

The mentors emphasized that the essence of FLL lies not only in competition, but in the values it teaches — collaboration, perseverance, and curiosity. Each project encourages young participants to think critically, communicate effectively, and apply their knowledge in meaningful ways.

This global initiative connects teams from all over Serbia, with the most successful advancing to the regional finals in Slovenia, and eventually to the world championship.

In May, Savremena will also host the Explore and Discover programs for schools across the country, continuing to promote STEM education and innovation as cornerstones of future-ready learning. 💛
