Presentation of the Publishing Activities of the Institute for Children's Literature

Symposium at the Association of Writers of Serbia: Students of Savremena School Meet Contemporary Authors

On Wednesday, June 12th at 12 o’clock, a symposium began at the Association of Writers of Serbia where the Institute for Children’s Literature presented its publishing activities for this year. Representatives from Savremena School were Serbian language and literature teachers and students from the fifth, sixth, and seventh grades.

Interesting Moments and Encounters with Authors

Although the symposium was traditionally organized, the students found it interesting to listen to excerpts from the latest titles for children and young people, to personally meet the authors, to talk to them about their inspirations, to invite them to visit their school, and even to receive a book as a gift for their school library.

Among the authors present at the symposium, Nenad Milošević and Robert Takarič particularly captured the children’s attention. Both spoke about growing up and the teenage years in their unique, humorous, and very sincere ways, as they both work with children and are well-acquainted with the challenges and troubles of youth.

Language and Literature Classes through New Perspectives

Through language and literature classes, it is always possible to find new and unusual ways for students to engage with various contents and to be introduced to the world of books and creativity. This time, they had the great honor and privilege of visiting an institution like the Association of Writers of Serbia and meeting people who are personally responsible for bringing quality literary works to them.
