Our third graders impressed their peers at the Judo Life Skills workshop
Stanko Popović and Konstantin Jovanović conducted a demonstration and a training session in judo for their peers.
At Savremena Elementary School, third-grade students Stanko Popović and Konstantin Jovanović organized an interactive judo workshop, revealing the secrets of this martial art through its history, rules, and demonstration of techniques.
Judo - More Than Just Fighting
Judo, meaning ‘gentle way’, is not just a martial art but also a path to self-development and discipline. Originating in Japan in the late 19th century, it was designed to promote physical, mental, and moral education. Through judo, students learn about respect, self-control, and perseverance, using techniques that harmonize strength and flexibility.
Young Judokas as Inspiration
Stanko and Konstantin, already experienced in judo with four years of training, succeeded in inspiring and motivating their peers through their presentation. Demonstrating various judo techniques, from basic falls to simulated combat, these young athletes showed how this skill develops not only physical abilities but also mental strength and character. Their workshop was an opportunity for all students to become acquainted with judo as a form of physical activity that nurtures both the spirit and the body.
