At Savremena Primary School, the Virtue Library was officially opened – a special treasury of virtues and creativity created by our students. Inspired by the story “Luka of the Seasons” from the book “Autumn Feast with the Fairy Bosiljčica” by Željana Radojičić Lukić, students participated in building this artistic treasure.

Students transformed their thoughts and feelings into written messages on autumn leaves. Each child chose one virtue they wanted to nurture – such as kindness, friendship, perseverance, or respect. In this way, they learned to recognize and name the qualities that shape them as individuals. This activity developed their emotional literacy, strengthened awareness of personal values, and showed them that true growth is measured not only by knowledge but also by character. In addition, children learned how to identify with positive traits and recognize them in their peers, fostering empathy along the way.

Through art assignments, students created their own “identity cards” and drew symbols that reflected their traits. This creative approach allowed them to express what they often cannot put into words – their dreams, virtues, and talents. In this way, art became a bridge between play and self-confidence, while at the same time students developed fine motor skills, concentration, and a sense of teamwork. Each child had the opportunity to shine in their own way and see how unique and special they are. At the same time, they learned that artistic expression can carry meaningful messages, sparking creativity and opening doors to new forms of communication.

When all the works were brought together, the Virtue Library was created – a treasury that symbolizes unity and the richness of each student’s personal qualities. It is not just a corner of the classroom, but a space that preserves memories and reminds children to cultivate virtues every day, in play, in learning, and in their friendships. The Virtue Library became a symbol of togetherness and proof that great values are built step by step. Through this collective activity, children realized how much each individual contributes to the group and how important it is to appreciate others’ talents and qualities, thus developing mutual respect.

This activity once again shows why Savremena Primary School is unique – it educates children not only to be successful students but also to be good people. In addition to knowledge from books, students here learn how to develop empathy, cooperation, perseverance, and responsibility. The Virtue Library is therefore more than a project – it is a reminder that true values last forever and that school is the place where people are shaped who will one day change the world. Through such projects, children experience education as a blend of knowledge and values, giving them the confidence and self-belief they will carry through life.
