Nemanja Peić
Professor of French
Professor of French Nemanja Peić graduated from the Department of Romance Studies at the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade. He completed his master’s studies at the Department of Romance Studies at the Faculty of Philology and Fine Arts, University of Kragujevac.
He worked as a translator for RTS as an external collaborator. From 2021 to 2024, he taught French, English, and Serbian as a foreign language at the Oxford Academy, where he gained extensive experience working with children, adults, and foreigners in both group and individual settings.
Since his studies, he has been offering private lessons in the aforementioned languages, as well as Latin, which he teaches to high school students. He participated with colleagues, under the mentorship of academician Predrag Piper, in the founding and development of the “Virtual Museum of the Serbian Language.” The project won first prize at the International Slavic Competition held in Russia in 2017.
He co-authored the book “Conversation with Nemanja” with academician Mira Vuksanović (two editions; UKCG 2020 and as part of the collected works of Mira Vuksanović, Laguna and the Archive of Vojvodina 2022).
He is involved in writing essays and stories and plans to pursue doctoral studies. In his free time, he visits cinemas, theaters, and museums, and enjoys traveling. He has been a jury member three times for the Goncourt Prize for Serbian students, under the patronage of the French Institute and the Goncourt Academy in Paris.
He views his work at the Savremena Primary School as an opportunity to showcase his interests in his teaching, using modern technology to make lessons creative and engaging for students. He broadens students’ horizons and encourages their curiosity, believing that a teacher must be dedicated and flexible.
