On Monday, 21 September, students from class VI-1 at Savremena Primary School had an opportunity to spend their school day in a slightly different way. They visited the “My Body, My Work” exhibition, organised by “Znanje pod lupom”, where they discovered a range of fascinating facts about the human body.

Rather than simply reading about new concepts, the students were able to explore, observe and gain new knowledge through direct experience. Their curiosity guided them from one exhibit to another, while the questions and conversations throughout the visit demonstrated just how engaging learning can become when a topic is presented in a different way.

What made the visit particularly valuable was the combination of learning, experience and fun. The Year 6 students had a wonderful time together while also leaving the exhibition with plenty of new information and impressions.

For Savremena students, visits like this are an opportunity to step outside the familiar school environment, broaden their interests and discover that knowledge can be found everywhere around them. Sometimes, all it takes is the right question and the curiosity to start exploring.

The “My Body, My Work” exhibition gave VI-1 students an opportunity to explore a familiar subject from a new perspective. The human body is filled with fascinating processes, connections and facts, and the content presented at the exhibition encouraged students to investigate, ask questions and think about what they were seeing.

Experiences like these can spark an even greater interest in science. When students connect what they already know with something they can see and experience outside the classroom, information gains a broader context and is more likely to become lasting knowledge. At the same time, students develop curiosity, observation skills and a desire to discover more about the world around them.

For the Year 6 students, the visit was also an opportunity to spend time together in a different environment. Learning, conversation, laughter and shared discoveries filled the day, creating an enjoyable and stimulating atmosphere.
