Interdisciplinary Class: Combining History and Visual Arts

Students of Primary School Savremena Learn About Myths and Art of Ancient Greece Through Creative Activities

Primary School Savremena organized an interdisciplinary class that combined history and visual arts, providing students with a unique opportunity to learn about the myths and art of Ancient Greece in a creative way.

Myths and Art of Ancient Greece

During the class, students were introduced to the rich mythology of Ancient Greece. The history teacher narrated the most famous myths, explaining their significance and impact on Greek culture and art. Special attention was given to stories about gods, heroes, and mythical creatures.

Following the history lesson, students moved on to visual arts activities. With the help of the art teacher, they created ancient-style vases out of paper, depicting scenes from selected myths. This activity allowed them to practically apply the knowledge gained in the history lesson and develop their artistic skills.

Students enthusiastically worked on their vases, using various drawing and painting techniques to illustrate scenes from Greek myths. Their works were inspired by stories of Hercules, Perseus, Athena, Zeus, and many other characters from Greek mythology.

Success of the Interdisciplinary Class

The interdisciplinary class was very successful and inspiring for the students. The combination of history and visual arts enabled them to gain a deeper understanding of Ancient Greek culture and provided them with the opportunity to creatively express their ideas. This approach to teaching proved to be extremely effective in encouraging students to develop their knowledge and skills across different fields.

Primary School Savremena continues to apply innovative teaching methods, providing its students with rich and diverse educational experiences that empower them to become versatile and creative individuals.
