A humanitarian event titled “Savremena together for good” was held at Savremena Primary School, bringing together students, parents, teachers and staff around one shared and noble goal – to support a young girl named Sofija through friendship, play, smiles and good deeds.

The event took place on 12 June, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Savremena Primary School, which was filled with truly special energy on that day. Sports spirit, music, cheering, the creativity of the youngest students and a sincere desire to help all came together in one place. This combination made the day much more than a school event – it became a gathering of a community that knows how to come together when it matters most.

“Savremena together for good” showed how big the heart of a school can be when students, parents and staff unite around the same idea. Every activity carried the message that humanity is not only a word, but a choice to stand by someone who needs support. Students had the opportunity to learn about empathy, solidarity and responsibility in the most meaningful way – through personal participation, joint effort and the joy of helping.

The programme was designed so that everyone could find their place and their own way to contribute. The family basketball tournament attracted special attention, with teams made up of parents and children. They played together as teammates, but also as part of the same humanitarian story, showing that a shared game can become a powerful symbol of support. The tournament was held in the spirit of fair play, without referees, relying on agreement, respect for the rules and positive energy among all participants.

For those who enjoy thoughtful moves, a humanitarian chess tournament was organised, where students demonstrated concentration, patience and a respectful attitude towards their opponents. The karaoke competition brought a special kind of joy, as students used song and performance to make the atmosphere even brighter, encouraging cheering, applause and smiles.

The youngest students made their contribution through the humanitarian bazaar, selling products they had designed and prepared themselves. Their creativity, dedication and wish to help showed that great good deeds can begin with small hands. Every match, every move, every song and every item at the bazaar carried the same message – when Savremena comes together, great things happen.

Through this event, Savremena Primary School became part of the humanitarian story of the “Luka Jovanović” Memorial Tournament, which has been bringing people together around sport, unity and humanity for ten years. Basketball, fair play and support for those who need help the most are at the heart of this noble initiative, and Savremena proudly contributed to spreading its mission.

The special value of the “Savremena together for good” event lies in the fact that parents and children were together – not only as observers and participants, but as a team.
