Happy Learning for a Value-Based Society

Savremena Primary School in a National Project

From August to December 2025, Savremena Primary School is taking part in the important national project “Happy Learning for a Value-Based Society”, implemented by the association UG Kreativa with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia. The project brings together schools across the country with a common goal – strengthening the educational role of schools and fostering a culture of virtue among students.

Goals and Importance of the Project

The project is designed to influence, through a series of activities:

  • strengthening the educational role of schools in modern society,
  • preventing violence and promoting a culture of non-violence,
  • building a system of values and developing virtues in school life.

Over a 12-week cycle, students will explore different virtues through a special methodology – each week is dedicated to one virtue, which is connected to a story from the “Magic Village” series. In this way, virtues are not studied in isolation but are naturally integrated into lessons and everyday schoolwork.

The Virtue Room – a Special Space for Fostering Values

A unique highlight of the project in our school will be the establishment of the Virtue Room – a dedicated space for promoting values, creativity, and preserving the results of all project activities. In the Virtue Room, students and teachers will be able to present their work, document examples of good practice, and inspire one another to continue developing. The project’s final event will provide an opportunity to showcase the achievements of students and teams, as well as to exchange experiences with other schools involved in the initiative.

Project Launch – Training in Banja Vrujci

The project officially began with a training session in Banja Vrujci, attended by teachers Branka Milićević and Branka Đurović, along with Serbian language and literature teacher Marija Šaponjić. The training offered an opportunity to become familiar with the project methodology in detail and to exchange experiences with colleagues from other schools.

In addition, the project team in Savremena Primary School includes pedagogue Sara Kostić and computer science teacher Maja Babić, ensuring an interdisciplinary approach and comprehensive support for students from different aspects of educational work.

A Common Goal – School as a Place of Values

The participation of Savremena Primary School in this project confirms our commitment to ensuring that students not only acquire knowledge but also develop virtues that will guide them throughout their lives. A culture of community, non-violence, empathy, and mutual respect is the foundation on which we build our school spirit and the society of the future.
