Each country brings new challenges and discoveries. Through games and tasks, children collect “clues” – symbolic puzzle pieces that represent not only acquired words but also important intercultural values: cooperation, respect for diversity, curiosity, and openness. At the end of the journey, all the clues come together into a unique whole, a puzzle that symbolizes Europe as a space of diversity and unity. The final meeting at the European Parliament encourages children to reflect on what they have learned and to notice how different cultures are interconnected.
Globetrotters connects the digital platform with physical materials and creative activities. Children can play digital games, but also cut, assemble, move cards, play board games, prepare simple recipes, or participate in role-playing games. Learning takes place through multiple senses, through play and movement – both in the classroom and at home.
The platform is flexible – teachers and parents can adapt the pace, sequence, and “depth” of activities to the age, interests, and needs of the child. Special attention is paid to inclusion, so that every child can feel involved and successful.
Integrated Digital and Physical Materials
Globetrotters is developed as an integrated system of materials that combines digital and physical resources into a coherent and methodologically designed pedagogical whole. Its purpose goes beyond mere transmission of linguistic content; the system is directed toward shaping diverse and meaningful learning experiences that encourage curiosity, active participation, and deeper understanding of the cultural context in which language is used.
Through carefully designed activities, different learning styles are supported: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic, which enables differentiation of teaching and adaptation to individual children’s needs.
The platform has a clear pedagogical function in supporting teaching. It offers teachers ready-made, methodologically grounded activities that save time and enable easy integration into existing curriculum. At the same time, Globetrotters aims to bring language and culture learning closer to the family environment. Through carefully structured but flexible activities, parents are offered a clear and applicable framework for encouraging language development, intercultural sensitivity, and a shared spirit of exploration at home.
Globetrotters is not just a digital tool or a classic educational program; it is a complete learning experience. It connects language, culture, play, and emotions into a unique whole in which children are active explorers, not passive listeners. In such an environment, learning becomes meaningful, motivating, and lasting. Globetrotters helps children learn not only how to say something, but also how to understand the world around them. This is the first step toward multilingualism, intercultural sensitivity, and openness to others – skills that are more important today than ever.
International Partnership
Savremena Primary School has become a partner in the Globetrotters project – an international educational project funded by the European Union. The project brings together schools and educational institutions from different European countries with a common goal: to advance foreign language learning through an innovative approach that places culture at the center of the teaching process. The partnership enables the exchange of experiences, joint activities, and access to resources that support modern methods of language teaching.
Through partnership in the Globetrotters project, Savremena Primary School contributes to the development of educational programs that do not view language only as a set of grammatical rules, but as a living system that develops through culture, history, and everyday communication. The project is funded by the European Union and brings together a team of experts dedicated to improving the quality of education in the field of foreign language learning.
