Creative Combination of Mathematics and Physical Activity Delights Students and Parents
Versatile talents mark the month with numerous awards, inspiring the community
On September 28th, at 12 PM, the final celebration of the MATH&MOVE project took place at the Primary School Savremena. This innovative program combines mathematics and physical activity, designed for children aged 6 to 9. The aim of this unique initiative is to help children acquire mathematical skills in a fun and dynamic way, through play, movement, and interactive tasks.
During the event, parents and children had the opportunity to become familiar with the methodology of the MATH&MOVE program, which is based on scientific research regarding the positive impact of physical activity on children’s cognitive development.
An Innovative Approach That Combines Play and Learning
The program encourages children to master basic mathematical concepts through active movement, such as jumping, running, and coordinated activities, in a simple and natural way. Numerous examples of exercises and games that are part of this program were showcased at the celebration, illustrating the practical application of this innovative learning approach.
Parents and children participated in activities that demonstrated how, through play and physical activity, children can quickly and effectively grasp mathematical operations such as addition and subtraction, as well as number recognition. Many families expressed their enthusiasm for a method that encourages children to develop a love for mathematics through fun, rather than viewing it as a challenging subject.
The final celebration of the MATH&MOVE project highlighted the importance of innovative methods in education, and this program has proven that the combination of play and learning can significantly improve students’ performance and motivation. The Primary School Savremena continues to promote such approaches that foster academic skills and a love for learning in children.
