The students of Savremena Primary School spent an unforgettable day on an excursion to Zlatibor and Šargan Eight Railway, exploring nature, history, and friendship along the way. 🌲

The day began with a scenic ride through Zlatibor’s mountain landscapes, where students breathed in the crisp air and admired the beauty of untouched nature. During their walk, they learned about the importance of preserving the environment and discovered the plants and animals that make this region so unique. Teachers shared fascinating stories about natural processes, while the children watched clouds drifting over the mountain peaks and sunlight glittering on the slopes. ☀️

For many, this was their first visit to Zlatibor — and every moment felt like a new adventure. Through laughter, learning, and teamwork, the students strengthened their bonds and created memories that will stay with them for years to come.

 The highlight of the trip was the ride on the Šargan Eight, a historic narrow-gauge railway that winds through the mountains in the shape of a figure eight. As the old train “Ćira” whistled through tunnels and over bridges, the students experienced a living history lesson — one filled with motion, wonder, and discovery.
They listened to stories about the railway’s construction and its role in connecting people across Serbia and the Balkans. With every turn and tunnel, excitement grew — students took photos, exchanged impressions, and marveled at how travel can bring the past to life.

By the end of the trip, the students understood that learning doesn’t happen only in classrooms — it happens wherever curiosity takes them. This day on Zlatibor was not only about discovering new places, but also about understanding how history, nature, and human creativity are beautifully connected. 💛
