Effort, teams, and victories - Sports week at Savremena
Five days of sports disciplines and outstanding achievements by our students
During Sports Week, students of Savremena Primary School had the opportunity to compete in a variety of sports, from table tennis and athletics to basketball, volleyball, and mini-football. Each day presented a new challenge and a chance for students to showcase their skills, focus, discipline, and team spirit. These activities help children develop physical abilities, self-confidence, and social skills while learning how to support each other and respect the rules of the game. Winners of each discipline will represent the school at city and municipal competitions, which further motivates all students. Sports Week was also an opportunity to strengthen camaraderie and create unforgettable school memories.

Monday – School table tennis tournament
The week began with a school table tennis tournament, featuring a total of 65 participants. The winner of the tournament was Đorđe Bojičić (8-2), who, along with Teodor Nikolić (7-2), Jegor Busigin (7-1), and Utoš Stojaković (8-2), will represent the school at the City Championship. The tournament allowed students to develop concentration, precision, and sportsmanship through strategy and focus during the matches. This day taught students the importance of discipline and respecting rules, as well as how to handle both victory and defeat positively. Every move with the paddle was also a step toward improving motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
Tuesday – School athletics competition
In athletics, students competed in two age categories – 5th/6th grade and 7th/8th grade, separately for girls and boys. Disciplines included 60m sprint, 300m run, 600/800m run, shot put, and long jump. The winners representing the school at the municipal competition were: Marko Petrović, Ana Jovanović, Luka Ilić, Teodora Stanković, Nikola Milenković, Milica Radosavljević, Stefan Đorđević, and Jovana Nikolić. Their success demonstrates exceptional physical abilities, dedication to training, and perseverance, as well as readiness to face challenges and give their best. The competition helped students develop endurance, speed, coordination, and technical skills while boosting self-confidence and team spirit. In addition to physical skills, students learned how to set goals, monitor their progress, and motivate each other through these challenges.
Wednesday – School basketball tournament
The winners of the school basketball tournament were 8-2. The team displayed excellent cooperation, team spirit, and strategic thinking throughout the matches. Students learned the importance of coordinating with teammates, developing reaction speed, and making timely decisions on the court. The winners now keep the trophy in their classroom, motivating them to continue working hard and supporting each other. This tournament highlighted how team sports develop social skills and a sense of unity among students.
Thursday – School volleyball tournament
The winning volleyball team was also 8-2, part of this class’s remarkable achievements. Through play, students developed coordination, agility, and teamwork, while the competition encouraged collective strategy and mutual support. Volleyball teaches students to stay focused, communicate with teammates, and solve challenges together. The trophy they won is now kept in their classroom as a symbol of their unity and success. These moments foster a sense of belonging and motivate all students to give their best effort.
Friday – School mini-football tournament
The winning mini-football team was 8-2, marking the first time a single class has won all three team sports trophies. During the matches, students demonstrated outstanding coordination, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The winners now keep the trophy in their classroom until the next tournament, which further motivates all students to cultivate effort, perseverance, and teamwork. Mini-football allowed students to develop speed, agility, and fair play while learning to respect their opponents and teammates. Sports Week at Savremena once again proved the importance of combining physical activity, camaraderie, and values through sport.
