As part of the “Hill of Virtues” activity, students of Savremena Primary School spent the past week developing perseverance through a series of tasks that were both fun and challenging. Inspired by the story “Tastes of the World” from the book “Summer Adventures with the Fairy Sunčica” by Željana Radojičić Lukić, they explored themes of persistence and courage through different subjects, worked in teams, and learned how not to give up when faced with obstacles. 🍜🌍

 On their shared “Hill of Virtues” board, students left messages describing moments when they didn’t give up — whether they completed a difficult task, supported a friend, or overcame a challenge with extra effort. Each note served as proof that even small moments of perseverance make a big difference.
This method helped them reflect on their own efforts, which is essential for developing inner motivation and self-confidence.

 Through teamwork and mutual support, students discovered that perseverance is not just about “working until the end” — it’s about helping others, pushing through tough moments, and believing in the process. They learned to lean on each other and recognize the power of collective effort.
Such experiences don’t just build skills; they strengthen trust and cooperation, which are just as important as personal success.

 Developing perseverance helps children build resilience, consistency, and focus — skills they will use throughout their lives. When they learn not to give up in the face of challenges, they become more confident in overcoming both academic and personal obstacles.
These activities also teach them to value the process, trust in themselves, and respect effort — both their own and that of others. In this way, they build self-confidence that extends far beyond the classroom.
