From October 4th to 6th, 2024, Year 2 and 3-1 students from Savremena Primary School spent a weekend immersed in nature at the “Stari Tamiš” farm. During this educational trip, students experienced life and work on a farm through outdoor education, developing an awareness of the importance of agriculture and the natural environment in our daily lives.

On a vast 1,000-hectare property near Pančevo, “Tamiški konaci,” Serbia’s first educational center of its kind, serves as the ideal destination for learning about primary agricultural production, livestock farming, crop cultivation, and vegetable growing. Here, children had the unique opportunity to explore the cycle of organic, healthy food production, gaining hands-on insights into rural life—from plant cultivation to animal care.

The visit to “Stari Tamiš” farm offered our students a chance to connect with nature, learning firsthand about the significance of ecosystem preservation and sustainable living. Such activities play a key role in fostering children’s ecological awareness and appreciation for the environment, enriching their education with experiences that encourage independence, responsibility, and a deeper connection to the world around them.
