An Engaging Serbian Language Class Led by Older “Sisters”

Seventh-grade students take on the teacher’s role through the “Older Sister, Younger Brother” project

As part of the “Older Sister, Younger Brother” project, seventh-grade students Iva Dolovac and Kasija Janković held an interactive Serbian language class for third-grade students, focusing on spelling and abbreviations. With a lot of effort, creativity, and enthusiasm, Iva and Kasija did an excellent job in their roles as teachers. The third-grade students actively participated, followed the content with interest, and enjoyed the new approach to learning. The class unfolded in a stimulating and positive atmosphere, with evident enjoyment from both the younger and older students.

Learning Through Cooperation and Trust

During the class, Iva and Kasija demonstrated confidence and adaptability in their teaching roles, while the third-graders were motivated to engage and take part in the discussion. They presented the spelling rules related to abbreviations in a fun and age-appropriate way that resonated with their younger peers.

Knowledge Exchange That Inspires

At the end of the class, students eagerly asked questions, curious to learn about lesser-known abbreviations-showing not only their understanding of the lesson but also a genuine desire to explore further. Experiences like this highlight how much students can inspire one another when given the opportunity to grow and share roles together.
