First Graders on an Adventure at Mali Dunav
A one-day trip filled with learning, discovery, and the joy of being in nature
For our first graders, learning does not happen only in the classroom – it comes alive through every new experience, every question, and every discovery. That is exactly why the one-day trip to Mali Dunav was much more than a simple school outing – it became a true little exploration filled with excitement, friendship, and unforgettable moments.
From their very first steps through the greenery and along the water, students observed the world around them with great curiosity. Meeting domestic animals sparked their natural sense of wonder, while firsthand experiences helped them learn about different species, their habits, and the importance of caring for living beings. Young animals, nests, and fascinating details from the animal world especially captured their attention and inspired genuine enthusiasm.
Being in nature encouraged conversation, questions, and meaningful connections between classroom knowledge and the real world. Through experiences like these, children develop observation skills, empathy, and a deeper understanding of their natural surroundings. Every moment became an opportunity for learning, but also for laughter, play, and creating memories that will stay with them long after returning home.

Learning Through Memorable Experiences
One of the most exciting parts of the trip was discovering the richness of nature through interactive experiences that introduced students to life both in water and on land. They observed various animal species, learned about their characteristics, and explored how natural ecosystems function. The boat ride added an extra sense of adventure, while time spent by the water inspired conversations about plants, animals, and the importance of protecting nature.
Especially valuable were the moments when students practiced patience, teamwork, and careful observation through exploration, walks, and shared outdoor activities.
Small Steps, Big Discoveries
For our youngest students, experiences like these are invaluable opportunities to discover the world through all their senses. When learning becomes something they can see, touch, and truly experience, knowledge takes on an entirely new meaning.
At Mali Dunav, our first graders did not simply spend a beautiful day outdoors – they explored, asked questions, learned through direct interaction with their surroundings, and strengthened friendships through shared adventures. These are the moments that create the most cherished school memories and inspire a lifelong love of learning.
